Mary “Kay” Greene, age 100, of Cantonment, Florida, passed away on January 10, 2021, in Florala, Ala. Kay was born on August 22, 1920, in Baltimore, MD, to John H. and Katherine Dixon. She was a high school graduate. Kay married the love of her life Walter, in February 1941. Kay had many hobbies, but the one she liked the most was cross-stitching. In her younger years, She was an avid bowler. Kay never met a stranger; always friendly and willing to share anything she had. She retired from civil service and worked at Wal-Mart until she ultimately retired around the age of 75.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Greene, who passed in May 2005, and her parents.
She is survived by her sons, Richard L. Greene of Pennsylvania and Terry W. Greene of Alabama; daughter, Barbara A. Miller of Pensacola, Fl.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 19, 2021, from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm at Rose Lawn Funeral Home 2942 Gulf Breeze Pkwy, Gulf Breeze, FL. 32563. A funeral cortege will line up at 12; 15 pm, Wednesday, January 20, 2020, at Olive Baptist Church-Warrington Campus, 103 W. Winthrop St., Pensacola, FL 32507, and will depart promptly at 12:30 pm for the interment at Barrancas National Cemetery.
