Joan Benz

Joan M. Benz, 85, of Gulf Breeze, Florida passed away after a brief illness on June 5, 2015. Joan was born October 21, 1929 to Florence and Dale Hadfield in Macomb, IL. She lived most of her early life in Iowa and then retired to Florida. She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Freeman Fox; second husband Richard Benz, and her sister Peggy Kuiper. Joan was an active member of Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church, especially enjoying Bible study, and helping with Vacation Bible School. She absolutely loved playing bridge in several clubs. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Dalene Lindstrom (Mark) of Atlanta and Jodi Schoettlin (Jean) of Navarre; a sister Sandy Haack (Rich) of Sheldon, IA; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church, Soundside Campus, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's name to Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church would be appreciated.
