Janette Cramer

January 18, 1926 — July 18, 2014

Janette F. Cramer, 88, passed into Glory July 18, 2014 at Bay Breeze Nursing Home in Gulf Breeze, FL. where she had been in the loving care of the wonderful staff in her final days. A native of Defuniak Springs, FL., Janette was a graduate of Florida State University and taught elementary school in Leon, Pinellas, Palm Beach and Jefferson Counties over her 25 year career. She loved teaching and although she taught several grades, sixth grade was her favorite and math her favorite subject to teach. A teacher in the true sense of the word she taught life lessons along with math, science, english and history and always with a bit of fun mixed in. She was a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church where she actively served in many areas. Wherever she lived she participated in the night Bible Study circles, taught Sunday School and willingly served on various committees when asked. In 1997 she was awarded an Honorary Life Membership to the Presbyterian Women in recognition of her work with the Presbyterian Women Fellowship. She served up to the State level as Moderator of the Presbyterian Women of the Presbytery of Florida. She was a charter member of the Fellowship Presbyterian Church of Tallahassee. She is a member of the Tallahassee Chapter of the Eastern Stars and worked closely with the Northwood Assembly of the Rainbow Girls for many years. Square Dancing was a passion of hers and she danced her way around much of the southeast as long as her feet allowed. Attending Florida State baseball games was one of her favorite pastimes. But her greatest joy was found in the love for her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. To them she was their "Bunt" and she made life special. She was our family's greatest treasure and we will miss her very much. She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Grady W. Rea, Jr., her brothers Tommy and Guy Fountain (Ruth), and sister, Annette Johnson (Bob). She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Frederick M. Cramer, her sister Marguerite Reese (Leslie), her brother William S. Fountain (Joyce), her children William M. Rea (Pam), Clyde Rea (Terri), Lynette Wimberly (David), and Annette Getch (Earl), her step-children Elizabeth Herring (Randy), Susan Grupp, Frederick W. Cramer, and Scott Cramer, 21 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday, July 24 at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 25 at Fellowship Presbyterian Church, 3158 S. Shamrock St., Tallahassee. Burial will be at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park.
