William “Bill” Taylor Wells, Jr., age 84, of Mary Esther, Florida sadly passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.
Bill was a native of Kinston, North Carolina, and was the oldest son of the late William T. Wells, and Cleo Edwards Mitchell. Bill joined the United States Air Force where he retired after twenty-four years of service. He was initially stationed at Pope AFB in North Carolina before establishing the Wells family roots in Navarre, Florida while stationed at Hurlburt Field AFB. He was an avid fisherman and golfer but loved his family most.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia Quinn Wells; son, William “Taylor” (Zacha Antonella) Wells, III; granddaughter, Kaetlin Izabelle (William Michael) Wells Nelson and grandson, William “Taylor” Wells, IV; great-granddaughter, Arabella Willow Nelson; brother, Ronald Wells and family; sister, Minnie Wells and family; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He will be missed dearly, but never forgotten. His service will be held at Rose Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery in Gulf Breeze, on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of William T. Wells Jr. to Emerald Coast Hospice or the Dementia Society of America.
