William Curtis Mulligan, 77, of Gulf Breeze, Florida passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 in the early morning hours. Bill was born in Brundidge, Alabama on the first day of December 1935 to the late Herman and Dessie Ree Mulligan. He moved to Prattville, Alabama in 1946 and matriculated from Autauga County High School in 1955. William served his country as a member of the United States Navy for 23 years, including tours in Vietnam, before retiring as an Aviation Fuels Chief Petty Officer. Following his retirement from active duty, William devoted 21 additional years of civil service in the Fuel Division Supply Department at Naval Air Station Pensacola. Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mozelle Mulligan, his daughter, Linda Ellis, his son-in-law Tommy Ellis, son Paul Mulligan, grandsons Adam and Lee Ellis, brother Ronald Mulligan, and countless other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who already miss his wry humor and warm smile. Bill's remains will be conveyed by Tommy Ellis, Adam Ellis, Lee Ellis, Paul Mulligan, Robert Hines, Haynes Barrington, and the United States Navy Honor Guard. Joe Chambliss, Dr. Ron Henderson, Cecil Burder, Miles Thornton, and Denny Williams will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation is scheduled Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze from 11:30 to 12:30, followed by graveside services at Barrancas National Cemetery at 1:15.
