William Garner

William G Garner age 95 passed away on June 18, 2013 at the Fort Walton Beach Rehabilitation Center, where he resided for the last eight years. Mr. Garner was born in St Joseph, Missouri August 16, 1917. He graduated from Mooresville High School, Mooresville, Missouri. Joined the U S Navy January 9, 1936 and served to 1946. He retired from the U S Air Force in 1958. Mr. Garner saw action the Atlantic and the Pacific. He was a Past Master of the Masonic Blue Lodge, 32 Degree Mason, Shriner of Hadji Temple, of Pensacola, Florida, also Fort Walton Beach Shrine Club, Life Member of the Elks Lodge, American Legion, D.V.A., Life Member of the V.F.W. and St. Simon Episcopal Church, all of Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Garner, to whom he was married to for 57 years and 11 months, and also a daughter Gayl Anne. He is survived by several nephews and nieces. Mr. Garner moved from New Jersey to Fort Walton Beach, Florida in November, 1973. There will be a viewing and visitation from 9:00 - 10:00 AM, on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze, Florida followed by a Graveside Service at Beal Memorial Cemetery, Fort Walton Beach, Florida at 11:30 AM with U S Air Force Military Honors.
