Tom Duncan, 83, of Pensacola, died Feb. 19, 2012. Born Dec. 31, 1928 to John and Lucille Duncan in Laniers, AL. A graduate of Talladega High, he earned degrees from Jacksonville State and Auburn. During the Korean War, he served in the US Army. Tom was employed by the Escambia County School Board from 1955 to 1991 at Brentwood, as principal of Washington and Woodham, and served as Director of Data and Management Information Systems. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, and volunteered with Escambia County Youth Orchestra, Retired Education Association and Pensacola Community Concerts. His wife Thelma Payseur Duncan precedes his death. Survivors are sisters Barbara Hobbs and Sue Gilbert, children Dr. Brad Duncan, Jennifer Duncan Russell and granddaughter Lauren Kennedy Russell. The family extends gratitude to the staff of the Haven who took such good care of Tom. Memorial service will be held at 11am, Friday, Feb. 24 at First United Methodist Church, Pensacola.
