William "Bill" Blackwood passed away December 29, 2015, at his home in Gulf Breeze.
He was born March 26, 1921 in Lancaster, Ohio. He was a commissioned officer in the European theater in World War II and again served in the Korean conflict. He graduated from Ohio State University following WWII. He was a long-time resident of Gulf Breeze and Pensacola in the employ of Monsanto Company. In 1964, the family was relocated in Europe for ten years in Scotland and Belgium. Bill retired from the industry in 1985 and then worked as an associate realtor with Donovan Realty. He was a member and elder of the Gulf Breeze Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary J. Blackwood, daughter Sarah McCarthy and husband Dennis McCarthy, daughter Susan Reynolds and husband Hal Reynolds, daughter Ann Blackwood, grandchildren Arran, Rachel, Allison, and Michael, and great-granddaughter Ella. Bill will be remembered by his family as a wonderful man, full of humor, constancy, wit and kindness. He will be sorely missed and loved in our memories.
