Willemina E. Van Veen Roche, 81, a resident of Gulf Breeze, Florida for over 47 years, died on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 after a short illness.
Willie was born November 18, 1937 in Amsterdam, Holland, where as a young girl she survived Nazi occupation during WWII; her family home just a few blocks from the Anne Frank house. In 1960 she met & married Thomas F. Roche (USAF) who was stationed in Europe. Willie & Tom were married for 46 years, until his death in 2006. She was an active member of the Pensacola Beach Elks Lodge, forging 50 yrs of loving friendships.
Willie is survived by Son, John W. Roche (Deborah Roche), Daughter, Mary Roche, Four (4) Grandchildren: Nina R. Cobb, Thomas H Roche, Megan Townsend and Michael Flake. Five (5) Great Grandchildren: Marilyn Townsend, Trinity Cobb, Kenton Townsend, Greyson Lilly & J. Austin Roche, Two (2) Brothers: John Van Veen (Neel Alles Van Veen) & Hanki Van Veen & One (1) Sister, Maria Van Der Schild (Dick Van Der Sheild), & Sister-in-Law, Willemina Van Veen & Many loving Nephews & Nieces.
Public Visitation will be held Monday, October 28, 2019 from 4pm-6pm at Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze, FL.
A Private Burial will be Tuesday morning at Barrancas National Cemetery, in Pensacola
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Pensacola Humane Society or your local animal shelter.
