W. Craven, Jr.

W. George Craven Jr, age 56, of Gulf Breeze, FL died Sept. 24, 2017 after a long illness.
He was born May 23, 1961 in Jamestown, TN to William George Craven Sr. and Emily Rhoda Demchik Craven. He studied Biology at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN., and in 1983, he moved to Gulf Breeze to start his 34-year career at the US E.P.A. on Pensacola Beach. He worked as a Dive Team member, navigated boats for scientific research, and ran tests in the research lab. His interests included scuba diving, fishing, and music, and he played rhythm guitar in a band in Jamestown and at Calvary Chapel Gulf Breeze.
He is survived by his daughters, Emily Caroline Craven and Ashley Taylor Craven of Gulf Breeze, FL and his wife, Dawn Blackwood Craven originally of Hendersonville, TN. His siblings are brother Patrick Craven of Chattanooga, TN; sister Denise Craven Romer, spouse Jim and children Michael and Carrie, and sister April Craven and child William, all of Jamestown, TN.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 27, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, 2942 Gulf Breeze Pkwy in Gulf Breeze, FL. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday Sept. 28 at 10:00AM.
Memorial Donations may be made to Life Church Gulf Breeze - India Orphanage Fund.
