Violet Louise Whitfield Venable was born in Benham, Kentucky on August 13, 1928. The second of seven children. She always excelled in school having earned the DAR medal and being inducted into The National Honor Society, among other recognitions. She even learned to fly airplanes at a young age. But more than any of these things, she was a loving and exceptional human being, a wonderful wife and the best, most devoted mother that anyone could have had. Louise was loved by everyone who knew her. Her sweet and caring nature shone through with everyone. She loved her children so much, and never stopped worrying about them. Her last words in every get together or phone call were, "Be careful." "Call me when you get home, I love you." She will be missed more than words can express by her husband of 66 years, Charles,(they just celebrated this anniversary on March 1st), and her grown children, Daryl, Carol and Linda. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Winston, Lauren, Lindsay, Amanda and Garrett and by her five great-grandchildren who sent her love notes and drawings while she was in the hospital. She will also be missed by her brothers and sisters and many other members of her extended family as she touched all of their lives. Louise was often called "an angel" and she was. Now she has joined the heavenly host of angels and will no longer have the physical pain or worries of this mortal life. She is sweetly and lovingly forever embraced in the arms of our Savior. And we hope to all be worthy enough to be there with her someday.
