His courage and dedication were especially evident in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, where he took part in the rescue and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center. Even after his retirement, his commitment to his firefighter brothers never wavered, making several trips to Washington, D.C., to lobby on their behalf.
Tommy was a kind-hearted man who found joy in helping others. His deep love for his family and friends was evident in everything he did. After the passing of his beloved brother, James M. Dunn Sr., who also participated in the 9/11 recovery efforts, Tommy showed outstanding love and support for his sister-in-law, Coreen, and his niece and nephews, Fiona, James, and Kevin. His firefighter brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends will forever cherish his memory.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Michaela Dunn; his parents, Tom and Nancy Dunn; and his cherished pets, Casey Mae, Ginger, and Penny. He was preceded in death by his brother, James M. Dunn Sr.
