Theodore H. Foret, Jr. “Ted” - Husband, father, good friend to all – passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016. He was 80. Ted was born and raised in New Orleans, LA in the Iberville Housing Project on the edge of the French Quarter. A 1955 graduate of St. Aloysius High School (Brother Martin) going on to attend Auburn University on a football scholarship. He was a tackle on the 1957 Auburn team that finished 10-0 and won the school's first National Championship. After graduating from Auburn in 1959, he played football professionally for 2 years and coached at the high school level for 7 years. Ted began his computer career in 1966 working for CSC in Huntsville, AL at NASA. He then worked for Potomac Research and later Vanguard Technologies developing a nationwide network of computer software professionals supporting a variety of federal and state programs. As Executive Vice President, he managed business growth from 1 to over 850 people in Alabama, Nevada, Denver, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, New Orleans and locations across the nation. Ted was respected and loved by employees and clients alike. Ted and Juie moved to Gulf Breeze in 1987 where they helped their children establish their own businesses. Ted is survived by Juie, his wife of 57 years; his six children, Ted III, Todd, Thad, Renee, Reese, Robin and John Cornett and “adopted” son Sam Lundy. He was the proud grandfather to Caroline, Sarah, Lillie, Anna, Josephine and Teddy. “Big Daddy” was #76 in your Auburn football program but #1 in our hearts! He will be dearly missed. The visitation will be Friday, December 9, 2016 from 12:00 to 1:30 pm at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, 2942 Gulf Breeze Pkwy, Gulf Breeze, FL 32563. The memorial funeral service will follow at 1:30 pm at Rose Lawn. Arrangements entrusted to Rose Lawn Funeral Home of Gulf Breeze.
