Stephen John Tomlin passed away peacefully at his home in Gulf Breeze, Florida, on April 10, 2025, surrounded by family. He was 62.
Steve was born on April 22, 1962, in Columbia, South Carolina, and went on to build a long career in the automotive industry. He married his high school sweetheart, Tina, and together they built a life full of love and lasting memories. He loved fishing in the Gulf and spent every chance he got on his boat, Free Bird.
He was known for his quick wit and his practical jokes—always keeping those around him laughing and on their toes. He had a larger-than-life personality—kind, funny, and always the life of the party.
Steve is survived by his wife, Tina; his children, Whitney Murphy (Eddie) and Stephen Tomlin (Lauren); his mother, Carol Tomlin; his siblings, Garry Tomlin (Cathy), Missy Hudgins (Ben), and Tori Elmgren (Thor); his grandchildren, Everly, Radley, and Knox; as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Tomlin, and his sisters, Laura Nottingham and Robin Huckabee.
A memorial service will be held on May 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze, Florida. A reception will follow at Fairfield Inn and Suites on Pensacola Beach. Family and friends are welcome to join in celebrating Steve’s life.
Steve’s spirit lives on in the good times, big laughs, and lasting bonds he left behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
