Steve was born on January 11, 1955, at NAS Hospital Pensacola, Florida. He lived a life filled with music, adventure, and laughter. A talented musician, he found joy in playing the guitar and creating humorous songs for family and friends. Steve’s love for music was matched by a passion for the sea; as a mariner, he embraced the open water with enthusiasm.
Stephen was also an avid sports enthusiast who pursued a variety of hobbies with dedication and skill. He mastered scuba diving, snow skiing, and woodworking—each activity reflecting his adventurous spirit and craftsmanship. In recent years, Steve found great joy in traveling the world by cruise ship, spending countless hours at sea and embracing new experiences.
Stephen was predeceased by his mother, Barbara Elbert; father, Theo Elbert; and brother, Larry Elbert.
Survivors include his wife Lisa Elbert of Gulf Breeze, FL; Bothers, Tim (Shelly) Elbert of Niceville, FL & Mark (Maureen) Elbert of Collinsville, IL and Nephews, Jason, Ryan, Preston and Tyler Elbert.
A family and friends Celebration of Life will be held May 3rd 2025 on Pensacola Beach, FL. Any memorials can be made to your local No Kill Animal Shelters.
