Shirley F. Murphy (Jackson), 75, Born September 4th, 1945, was a native of Pensacola, FL, where she was born and taken.
Shirley was a very loving Mom, Grandmother, GiGi, Sister, and Friend to all who knew her. She was a 25+ year Breast Cancer Survivor and since been a long time supporter for breast cancer cure research. She graduated high school and went on to marry and have a daughter. Shirley also babysat MANY children in her home so she could be home to care for her family. After retiring from child care, she spent time with friends and family. Many years later, Shirley started working with A&E Pharmacy, where she worked for 10+ years. She really enjoyed her customers there. She then retired from there and has been going on vacations and spending time with her family.
Shirley will be reunited with her Beloved Husband, Joseph X. Murphy; Mother, Ethel E Jackson; Father, Otis Jackson; Great Grandson, Robert (Tallen) Vardeman; along with grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
Shirley leaves behind her Daughter, Le'Lon Vardeman (Ken); 3 Sisters, Charlotte Clemmons, JoAnne Rooker, and Linda Jackson; 2 Grandchildren, Alicia Linton (Zollie), Robert Vardeman (Jessica); 5 Great Grandchildren, Hunter Franklin, Zander Linton, Laiken Vardeman, Grayson Linton, Tesla Vardeman. Shirley also leaves behind her Companion, Joe Barrett.
The family asks in lieu of flowers to please make donations to the Pensacola Breast Cancer Association in Shirley's honor.
Due to COVID 19 and Shirley's wishes for cremation, there will be no viewing. There will be a memorial service for her at Barrancas National Cemetary Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at 11:30 AM. The family will meet in Walmart's parking lot and get in line to leave together and proceed down to the West/Back Gate where we will wait to be escorted onto the cemetery by the military police. Be at Walmart no later than 11. There will be a time to fellowship and reminiscing to follow at Le'Lon and Ken Vardeman's Home. at 1:30.
