Robert Craighead, III, 61, of Gulf Breeze went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 23, 2010. Robert was born January 29, 1949 in Huntington Beach, CA to Robert A., Jr. and Helaine E. Craighead. He was a Christian and truly loved the Lord. He had been passionate about surfing since he was a teen, surfing the shores of California, Florida and Hawaii. He was a long time member of the Irvine Valley Masonic Lodge Number 671 and a member of the A&A Scottish Rite. He was a career long haul truck driver and had worked for KLLM Transport Service for the last ten years. He was recently awarded with the prestigious Certificate for One Million Miles Safe Driving and the Million Miles ring. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Donna Jaber, their beloved dog Choplin, step-son Jeffrey Payne, granddaughter Amanda Patrick (Alex), great-grandchildren Lainey and Nolan Patrick, father-in-law, Sam Jaber (Myrtle), brother-in-law, Richard F. Jaber, niece, Brandy Jaber, sister, Helaine A. Craighead and aunt Marcelle Hicks. A Memorial service will be held Friday, February 26, 6:00 p.m. at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, 2942 Gulf Breeze Parkway, with Rev. John Spencer of Calvary Chapel-Gulf Breeze presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5401 Corporate Woods Drive, Suite 100, Pensacola, FL, 32504.
