Reverend Thurman Ray Strange was born on September 20, 1942 in Williamsville, Missouri. He moved with his family to Prairie City, Illinois in 1960. He faithfully served as a Minister to churches in Illinois, Florida and Ohio. In 2008 after 44 years of pastoral service with the Assemblies of God he retired to Gulf Breeze, FL, He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Strange and a sister Frieda Strange. Reverend Strange went home to be with the Lord on October 26, 2013, at the age of 71. He leaves to cherish his memories: his beloved wife of 52 years, Connie Strange; three sons and their spouses, Rick and Angela Strange of Houston, TX, Rev. Michael & Natalie Strange of Parma, OH and Missionaries Tim and Nicole Strange of San Jose, Costa Rica; eight grandchildren, First Class Petty Officer Beth Costa (Chief Petty Officer, Christopher) of Norfolk, VA, Elizabeth Strange of Houston, TX, Jordan Strange of Parma, OH, Daniel Strange of Houston, TX, Dylan Strange of Parma, OH, Francesca Panzanella of San Jose, Costa Rica, Gianna Panzanella of San Jose, Costa Rica and Carly Strange of Parma, OH; three great grandchildren Ariel Costa, Mattox Costa and Alex Costa; mother, Ollie Strange of Bushnell, IL, six brothers; Charles Strange of Bushnell, IL, Thornton Strange of Bushnell, IL, Harlan Strange (Diane) of Prairie City, IL, Robert Strange (Sonja) of Blandinsville, IL Glen Strange (Kathy) of Bushnell, IL and David Strange of Bushnell, IL, three sisters; Shirley Dildine (Jim, deceased) of Prairie City, IL, AnnaLee Waller of Carlinville, IL and Caroline James of Bushnell, IL and a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the wonderful, caring, and compassionate staff of the Bay Breeze Nursing Facility, for the exemplary care they gave Thurman during his extended stay there. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, November 1, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:30 PM at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, as well as Saturday, November 2, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Coastline Calvary Chapel. A funeral service will be held November 2, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Coastline Calvary Chapel Gulf Breeze, 1122 Oriole Beach Rd., Gulf Breeze, FL 32563 followed by burial in Rose Lawn Cemetery. On Sunday, November 10, 2013, at 4:00 PM, there will be a celebration service of the life of Thurman Strange at Bethany Assembly of God church, 6195 Broadview Road, Parma, Ohio.
