Reverend Adam G. Bernhardt, age 92, of Gulf Breeze, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 surrounded by loved ones.
Born December 28, 1925 in Egg Harbor, NJ, the son of Harry and Lillian Bernhardt. He joined the army in 1944 and served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. After leaving the army he dedicated his life to Jesus Christ. He then met the love of his life, Marian Cumalander of Grove Hill, AL. They were married on August 23, 1950 in Springfield, MO. He went on to earn his Bachelor's degree from Shelton College in New Jersey and later his Master's from Patterson State College in Patterson, NJ. He served in the ministry alongside his wife for over 50 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Marian Bernhardt of Gulf Breeze. Two children, Dr. Adam Bernhardt and wife Laura of Easton, PA and Mary Broxson and husband Douglas of Gulf Breeze, FL. Six grandchildren Julie (Jon) Giles of Gulf Breeze, Jason (Lindsay) Broxson of Gulf Breeze, Judd Broxson of Tampa, Jill (Tyler) Teston of Gulf Breeze, Lauren (Chris) Albright of McAllen, TX and Nathan Bernhardt of Easton, PA. One sister Ruth Findeisen of Lakeland and one brother Wilbert Bernhardt of Egg Harbor, NJ. Nine great children, Lexie, Emmie, Gavin and Grayson Giles, Liam and Lenox Teston, Harper and Juddsen Broxson and Theo Albright with a little sister on the way.
Visitation will begin at 10 A.M followed by the service at 11 a.m. at Brownsville Assembly of God, 3100 West Desoto Street, Pensacola, FL. The Committal service will immediately follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery, 2942 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze.
