Raymond Smith, 90, of Gulf Breeze, FL, peacefully passed away at his home on Sunday evening, November 20, 2022. He was surrounded by his family as he went to be with his Lord and Savior. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Martha Smith, his daughter, Cindy Williamson, and grandson, Gunnar Williamson, all of Gulf Breeze.
He was born in LaGrange, GA on July 28, 1932 to Milton and Essie Smith. After graduating from high school he went to work in a Callaway textile mill where he met the love of his life, Martha. They soon married and he joined the Navy. He served four years in the Navy during the Korean War.
After being discharged from the Navy he was offered a Civil Electrician Inspector position at Pensacola NAS. Upon retirement from this job he pursued his dream of running his own charter boat business. Raymond was famous for his fishing skills he leaves behind quite a legacy that his grandson, Gunnar, will be continuing.
Memorial service is 11 AM on Friday, November 25, 2022 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze, FL. Visitation is at 10 AM.
