Raymond Murphy

Raymond Robert Murphy 1955 - 2011 Raymond Robert "Charlie Ocean" Murphy, Jr., 55, died July 6, 2011 with his family by his side. Robert was born on October 15, 1955, a native of Gulf Breeze, FL; Robert moved to Mobile in his early 20's to continue a lifelong successful career in radio broadcasting. A local radio celebrity, his career began at the age of fourteen at WNVY in Pensacola. A loving husband, father, son, brother and grandfather, her is survived by his wife, Jennifer; children, Robbie (27), Sean (25), Leah (12), Mason (11), and John Tyler (9); granddaughter, Lilley (3); mother, Barbara Murphy, sister, Elizabeth; and half-sister Portia (Wayne)Warner. Preceding him in death was his father, Raymond Robert Murphy, Sr. Robert will be laid to rest at Rose Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donation be made to the American Red Cross.
