Ralph Smith

Ralph W. Smith 1932 - 2010 Ralph Smith, 78, devoted husband, father, and grandfather passed away on November 30, 2010. He was a resident of Gulf Breeze for last 44 years. Born August 21, 1932 in Clarkesville, GA, he was the eighth child of John I. Smith and May Flowers Woodward Smith. He received his Masters Degree in Chemistry from the University of Georgia. He was employed with Monsanto Corporation as a Research and Development Chemist for 33 years. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Gulf Breeze who served in a number of leadership positions. His interests were wide ranging; including fishing, boating, Indian artifacts, and antiques. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Eloise Burrell Smith; his sons, Sam (Ann) Smith, and Gary (Teresita) Smith; his daughter Lisa Smith (Stan Redick); his grandsons Seth and Ryan Smith; his brothers, Isaac and Wayne Smith; and his sisters, Ruth Sosebee and Susie Raper. He was preceded in death by his sister, Nell James; his brothers, John and Frank Smith. Services will be held on Friday, December 3, at First Baptist Church of Gulf Breeze at 11:00am with visitation to be held one hour prior. Burial will be held at Rose Lawn Cemetery.
