Purisimo Santos

Purisimo "Buddie" Santos, age 81, was taken into the Kingdom of Heaven on June 24, 2008, at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. Buddie was preceded in death by his father, Pedro; mother, Rosario Andojar; and two siblings. Buddie was born on Dec. 8, 1926, in Arayat Pampango, PI. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and retired after 23 years of service. In 1956 he married the love of his life Natividad "Nattie" Galang. Together they would become parents to eight boys and grandparents to several grandchildren. Buddie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nattie; sister, Lenora; children, Ed (Natalie), Roger (Laurie), Tony (Chae), Joseph (Kelly), Purisimo Jr., Pete (Jennifer), Noel (Susan), Jesse (Kimberly) and Steve Crain; 25 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Buddie was a man of faith, a member of St. Mary's Church of Fort Walton Beach and part of the choir for five years. During his life he enjoyed fishing with his sons, watching wrestling, gardening and playing bingo with friends. His family and friends will forever miss his sense of humor, his strong willed nature, his love of singing, and his grandchildren will miss him calling them "Pong." We will hold dear to our hearts his youthful zest for life as well as his love for his family. We will honor and celebrate the life of Purisimo Santos with a viewing from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, at Rose Lawn Funeral home, 2942 Gulf Breeze Hwy., Gulf Breeze, Fla., and at a funeral service at 10 a.m., Monday, June 30, also at the funeral home.
