She held a BS in Nursing from Georgia Southwestern College in Americus, Ga. and a MS in Nursing with an emphasis in Psychiatric Mental Health from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She held several teaching positions in Nursing, and ultimately retired from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatric Nursing.
Peggy is survived and loved very much by her three children Lisa Killinger-Farmer (Ron), Clarence Killinger, and Lori Killinger Globetti (Greg). She is survived by her only grandchild, Caleb Globetti, whom she adored! Also surviving are a sister Mary Jane Murray (Matt), brother Dr. David Kitchens (Barbara), and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Nancy Hunt.
Peggy was predeceased tragically early in her first marriage to husband, Ronnie E. Joiner, after a car accident. She was also predeceased by her second and former husband, DE (Gene) Killinger, with whom she shared her three children and her grandson.
Peggy will be laid to rest next to Ronnie in a graveside service on August 29,2024 in Oak Grove Cemetery in Americus, Ga. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests and would be honored by a donation to your favorite charitable organization in her memory.
