Patrick L. Doman died at his home in the presence of his family and friends on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born March 6, 1959, in Hawaii where his father served in the military, Pat lived 50 of his 51 years in Gulf Breeze, Florida, where he was happiest in life: surfing, fishing, or tooling around on a boat. Pat graduated from Gulf Breeze High School and the University of West Florida where he received his degree in finance. Pat was a man of many talents and varied interests, who worked as a commercial fisherman, a licensed financial advisor, and most recently in a pediatric dental office. Pat was an active member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church on Pensacola Beach where he served as Lector Coordinator. He was also a strong and valued presence in the local recovery community for over 22 years. More than anything Pat was a family man. Times spent with his wife, Kathy, and son, Everett, were his most treasured. He served as Everett's Cub Scout leader, basketball coach, and fishing partner. He was Kathy's devoted husband and best friend. In addition to his wife and son, Patrick is also survived by his mother, Alice Reese Doman; his father and step-mother, Lewis Albert Doman and Joann Pace Doman; three brothers, James Wright Doman, Michael Clifford Doman and David Reese Doman; and two sisters, Amy Doman Gruenloh and Anne Doman Hurst. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 5, 2010, from 4:30 to 7:00pm at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church with a Funeral Mass on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 10:00am at St. Ann Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze with a reception following at the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church. Donations may be made in Pat's name to: GI Oncology Research and Education The University of Alabama at Birmingham Gift Records AB 1230 1530 3rd Avenue South Birmingham, AL 35294-0112
