Nilda Martinez

Nilda Lilliana Martinez, age 74, of Navarre, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on April, 21, 2021.  She was born on November 26, 1946 in Ceiba, Honduras to the late Alfonso Peralta and Raymunda Rodriguez.  Nilda was known for her love of all shopping, but especially thrift shopping and antiquing.  She studied business in her native Honduras, where she served as a secretary and later as a teacher.  Nilda migrated to the United States with her family where she worked as a Home Health Aide and ultimately as a School Custodian.  She will be remembered for her modest demeanor and her love for her family.

Nilda is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Sonia Fuentes, Betina Lazo, and brother, Wilfredo Lazo.  Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Lilian Romero of Miami, FL, Dervin Flores of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Nilda Martinez of Gulf Breeze, FL, and Felix Martinez of Navarre, FL; grandchildren, Jamaly, Mario, Christian, Samantha, Sophia, Darwin, Camila, Brandon, Brianna, Angela, and Felix III; great-grandchildren, Iliana, Juan Carlos, and Maria; siblings, Nora Melendez, Jose Antonio Rodriguez, Marle Palacios, and Hector Nuñez; and a host of extended family and friends.

A viewing and visitation was held Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 5:00 until 9:00pm at Rose Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2942 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze FL 32563.
