Nell Britson Bramlette passed away on March 15, 2009. She was a long time resident of Pensacola and a graduate of Pensacola High School. She also resided for many years in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, LA, before returning to the Pensacola area. Nell was the daughter of beloved parents, Samuel and " Doll" Burke, both deceased. Mr. Burke was the head of L&N Railroad in Pensacola. She had two sisters, Mrs. Rosa Southall and Mrs. Ann Davis, also deceased. During World War II, then Miss Nell Burke met her first husband, Captain Richard E. Britson (deceased) of Roland, Iowa, while he was earning his wings at Pensacola Naval Air Station. They were married for more than 50 years until his death. Subsequently, Mrs. Britson married Mr. Bill Bramlette of Gulf Breeze, who deceased two years ago. Mrs. Britson Bramlette is survived by her son Richard E. Britson, Jr. of Metairie, LA and daughter Ann Britson Brockinton of Gulf Breeze. Grandchildren are Mr. Hagen Britson of Memphis, Major Brent Brockinton of Virginia, Ashley Brockinton Hunn of Missouri and Captain Blair Brockinton of Georgia. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren: Sophia Britson, Luke Brockinton and Caleb, Molly and Catherine Hunn. Nell was a member of the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church, the Pensacola Beach Woman's Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an avid bridge player (a Life Master.) She also enjoyed dancing and her pets Rufus, Bailey and Berkeley. Always and foremost was her love for family and country. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church Prayer Chapel with Dr. Herb Sadler officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
