Naomi Swindell

Naomi Lee Swindell, age 86 joined her lord on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018.

Naomi is preceded in death by her parents, Harry Febro & Cora Thomas, loving husband John Swindell, her sons Johnnie & James Swindell and grandsons Jesse Howard & Kip Hanks.

Naomi grew up in Pensacola and married John in 1948. Naomi's focus in life was her faith, family and helping others.

She was a selfless giver and lifelong member of First Baptist Church, Gulf Breeze. She was active in the church and Florida Disaster Relief which included feeding crowds at ground zero in NY, Katrina in New Orleans and various other storm sites.

Naomi was a gifted seamstress. She enjoyed personal relationships with her customers and was proud to have altered the uniforms for the Blue Angels and the Ronald McDonald house. Her fellowship with the Joy Sunday School group and the Merry Maker Choir held a special place in her heart. Naomi will be sorely missed by her family, friends and church family.

Naomi's surviving children are, Janice Hanks (Ralph) Panama City, Jeanette Geri (John) Pensacola, Jackie Swindell (Pat) Pensacola, June Collins (Tim) North Carolina & Jerry Swindell (Wendy) Panama City. Grandchildren; Valerie Goetz, Rip Hanks, Jason Geri, Joanne & Jake Swindell, Jennifer Johnson, Jamie Lancaster, Justin Swindell, Jennifer Mathis, Nichole & Krystal Acre and 27 great grandchildren.

Active Pall Bearers will be: Jason Geri, Jake & Justin Swindell, Rip Hanks, Col. Al Davis, Bob Davis, David Bush, Daryl Amos. Honorary Pall Bearers will be the Gideon family.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank the Baptist Hospital SINU (ICU) nursing staff for their excellent care during her unexpected illness these last two weeks.

Visitation will be held at Rose Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Gulf Breeze, Wed. Jan. 24, 5-7:00 PM. Funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church, Gulf Breeze, Thurs., Jan. 25, 11:00 AM.

Contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Gulf Breeze or the Gideons in memory of Naomi Swindell.
