Michael Braun

Michael Joseph Braun, 61, of Gulf Breeze, FL., born July 19, 1951 Santa Monica, CA, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, August 5, 2012. Mr. Braun worked in California at the construction company he founded for many years. Michael was a wonderfully humble man who worked hard at everything he did. He loved golf and the many friends he met playing the game. He was a member of several trade organizations and enjoyed his work with Habitat for Humanity. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley. Michael was preceded in death by his father Anton Braun and his brother Stephen Lee Braun. He was survived by his wife Brenda (Banks) Braun of Gulf Breeze, FL, his mother Nichole Braun Stabb and step-father Ed Stabb both of Walnut Creek, CA, sisters Nancy McGaraghan, Judith Barber and Annette Grooms and brothers James Braun and Anthony Braun, stepchildren Michele Heseman (Eric) and Brad Phelps (Seana) and four precious grandchildren Nick Heseman, Jake Heseman, Tyler Phelps and Gracyn Phelps. Michael is also survived by many nieces and nephews. There will be a Memorial Mass at 2:30 p.m. at St. John Vianney Church in Walnut Creek, CA on Monday, August 13th. Reception immediately following. A Celebration of Life for all who knew him in the Gulf Breeze area will be held at the Pensacola Country Club on Friday, August 17th from 4:30-6:30 pm. Please RSVP to PCC at 850-455-7364.
