On July 30, 2015, Maxine Jean Duhon, 86, a resident of Gulf Breeze Florida, made the transition to the Heavenly Realm with all the grace, style and courage as she did in all the wonderful years she spent on this earth. She will once again be with her mother, Minnie Lee Smith Jean, father, Pastor Edgar T Jean, sisters, Hazel Jean Thomas and Carolyn Patricia Jean Watkins and brother, Cois Jean. Survivors include; her husband, Claiborne (Jay) Duhon, two daughters, Donna Jean Estes and Teri Norton Feaser and a friend to Clay Duhon, sister, Nancy Rudene Tidwell and brother Fred Jean. Grandchildren, Michael Mann, Brandi Perkins and Trevor Trout. Great-grandchildren, Lydia Rose Mann and Logan David Perkins-Glass as well as several nieces and nephews who will keep her laughter in their ears and her memory alive in their hearts. Born July 11, 1929 in Blountsville, Alabama, Maxine was President of her class and named "Miss Smile". She was an inspiration to many and a pioneer who forged her own path in life; owning several successful businesses much to the chagrin of her male counterparts. She joined her husband, Claiborne J Duhon, in owning and operating a furniture store in Melbourne, Florida before retiring in 1995. She was a spunky 86 years of age. Funeral services will be held at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church, 75 Fairpoint Road, Gulf Breeze, FL, at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
