Maureen Sembrot

August 27, 1939 — December 16, 2018

Maureen Sembrot, age 79, of Gulf Breeze passed away peacefully on December 16, 2018. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing to Heaven.

Maureen is survived by her husband of 57 years Thomas Sembrot; her children James ( Traci ) and Ann ( John ); her grandchildren Alex, Kevin, Grace, Josie, Meghan, and Henry; as well as her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Born August 27th, 1939 in London England, Maureen survived Hitler's Blitz of London during World War II, worked as a telephone operator for the British Post Office, and traveled the world for 25 years as a "Navy wife"; settling in Gulf Breeze in 1987.

Maureen was an independent, well read, adventure-seeking, humble person. She embraced learning and was quick to volunteer her time to support causes and others in need. Maureen was comfortable ‘in the moment', believing that flexibility led to serendipity, allowing new experiences and ideas to flourish.

A devoted wife and mother, nothing provided Maureen more satisfaction than spending time with her immediate and extended family. She adored her late brother Eugene and loved listening to stories about her children and grandchildren's lives, always supporting their efforts and cheering their results.

The family will be hosting a visitation from 10-11 AM, on Thursday, December 20,2018 at Saint Ann Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze. This will be immediately followed by a Mass celebrating her memory at 11:00 a.m., with Monsignor Luke Hunt, VG presiding.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you donate in her memory to the charity of your choice.
