Mary Ann Roach Frazier, 89, of Navarre, Florida passed away January 1, 2024. She was born February 18, 1934 in Memphis, Tennessee. Mary was the beloved granddaughter of Ivy and Edgar Roach and daughter of Jack and Bernice Roach. She is best known as the heart of a strong family and circle of friends, she also considered her family, where she guided us all with her iron will and velvet touch. She was well recognized for her range of individual talents such as piano led sing-a-longs with family and friends to her and Bob’s love of ballroom dancing. Her three-state residency will remember her work as a strong community leader and advocate. She was a certified Florida Master Gardener and volunteer in the Santa Rosa County schools where she shared her rare gifts of making the world a more beautiful place through her extensive knowledge of flowers, raised vegetable gardens, etiquette, and manners. Many will recall her features on local TV as the “Christmas House” as well as many crusades such as protecting the beaches with sea grasses and the skimmers on the Navarre Beach Causeway. All these things are what she called “…her paradise”.
She is preceded in death by her adored husband, Bob and her spirit beagles; Gomer, Buddy and Benji.
Mary is survived by her 5 children and their partners in marriage as well as the hundreds across Tennessee, North Carolina and Florida who adopted her as their “Mamma Mary Ann”. Her cherished family also includes the 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Services will be held in Rose Lawn Funeral Home Chapel at 2PM Friday, January 5, 2024, with Pastor John Kelsoe officiating. Burial will be held in Rose Lawn Cemetery.
Memorial contributions should be made to her memory to the givers preferred beneficiary as she would never have presumed to designate how others gave of their hearts, particularly in her honor.
