Mary Strahl Boor, 80, of Gulf Breeze, FL, passed away on August 19, 2024, at Select Specialty Hospital in Pensacola, FL, after a courageous battle with cancer and pneumonia.
Funeral services will be 10 am, Friday, August 30, 2024, at Rose Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pam Avery officiating. The burial will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery with Rose Lawn Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9 am until the service time.
Mary was born to Agnes and Louis Nichols on December 22, 1943, in Oklahoma City, OK. After graduating from Northeast High School in Oklahoma City, she married William Strahl. They later moved to Chamblee, GA, where she worked for the Internal Revenue Service. They later relocated to Gulf Breeze, FL, where Mary began a successful career in Real Estate. She was consistently a top-gun realtor and became the preferred agent of the Navy’s Blue Angels.
True to her Cherokee Heritage, Mary was a strong advocate for the protection and care of animals, particularly dogs. She was also, a master floral arranger and designer, serving as such for the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church, where she was a devoted member.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, William; son, Bill, also by brothers, Nick and Robert Nichols, and step-son, Greg Boor.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Leo; sister Sharrell Coley (Larry); step-children, Daphne Halladay, Brad Buhr (Linda), Kelly Taylor, Kerri Hornby (Bill), Heather McKenzie (Jeff), Allyson Fortney (Joe), and several nieces and nephews.
