Martha Evelyn Davidson, 89, of Pensacola, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 in Pensacola, Florida.
Martha “Evelyn” was born on November 19, 1930 in Tampa, then lived in Gantt, Alabama before moving to Pensacola where she lived the remainder of her life. Evelyn loved visiting relatives at the family beach cottage in Gulf Breeze and lake cottage in South Carolina.
Evelyn was one of the first women insurance agents in the area and served as President of the Insurance Women of Pensacola in 1976-1977. For many years, she owned a Nationwide insurance agency on Creighton Boulevard in Pensacola.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Clara Harley, her husband of 63 years Robert “Bob” Davidson, her siblings Tom, George, Margaret, Clara, Mary, Dorothy, Bill, her daughter Deborah Davidson and grandson Matthew Tyler Riggs.
Surviving Evelyn are her daughters Vickie Reynolds Butler (Bill), Joy Riggs (Mark) and son Mark Davidson (Melinda “Lee”), nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Due to unprecedented worldwide events and national public gathering restrictions, plans for services will be deferred at this time. A notice of a celebration of her life will be forthcoming.
