Marietta Cole

Marietta Palmer Hall Cole, 89, formally of Orlando, died peacefully at The Villa's in Gulf Breeze, Florida, on June 4, 2009. She was the devoted wife of 55 years to her late beloved husband, Philip J. Cole, II. She was born on January 31, 1920 in Boston, MA to Mary Gertrude Campbell and Fredrick Morse Hall. She was the last survivor of her five siblings. Her greatest accomplishment was raising her seven children and she took great pride in all of their achievements. She enjoyed needlework and crocheted very large quilts which she loved sharing. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed word puzzles. Etta is survived by her seven children: Georgiana Gallagher, Philip J. Cole, III, Marianne McAuliffe, Danielle Ross, Patrick S. Cole, Marietta Wilhelm, Peter J. Cole, by her ten grandchildren Drew, Sean, Kevin, Maureen, Kristen, John, Cathy, Philip Joseph "PJ", Dita, Sinta and eight great-grandchildren, Joey, Jordan, Jonelle, Kathryn, Colleen, Evelyn, Robert, and Gabriel. The family would like to thank The Villa's of Gulf Breeze for the extraordinary care given to their mother. Visitation will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze, FL on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 10 AM. This will be followed by a funeral mass at 11 AM with a reception for family and friends held in the Parish Hall. The burial will take place in Orlando, FL at Woodlawn Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Philip. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anne's Senior Ministry.
