Marie Wright

Marie Wooten Wright, age 80, of Pace, was called home August 15, 2021.  She was born May 17, 2021, in Birmingham, AL, to the late E.C. and Lucy Wooten.  After high school Marie, earned a Bachelor of Education degree from Livingston College, and pursued a career teaching the third grade.  She retired from the Escambia County School System, after 41 years.  Marie dedicated the last 20 years to the Pensacola Beach Elementary School.  She spent her time away from school reading, sailing, taking cruise vacations, watching children play sports, and in her younger years she loved water skiing

Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Q. Crum; and her parents.  Those left with fond memories are her son, Robert Keith Wright of Pace, FL; Daughter, Ellen Lee Wright of Pensacola, FL; grandson, Cameron Robert Wright; grandson, Jared Scott Smith; granddaughter, Olivia Wright Chavers; granddaughter, Kasey Marie Shuler; grandson, Logan Kyle Meyer; and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 1:00pm, until the funeral service begins at 2:00pm, on Friday, August 20, 2021, at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, 2942 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze FL 32563.  Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery.  Pastor Pam Avery will officiate.  In lieu of flowers donations in Marie’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
