Marie was born on July 27, 1927 to Walter and Carrie Hayes in Maysville, KY. She passed away peacefully in her home after a brief illness, surrounded by family and friends. Marie enjoyed telling stories of growing up working in her parents' grocery store and her grandmothers' bar. She met and married John Fox there, and had a wonderful forty-four years traveling with him. They moved to Pensacola in 1969. He preceded her in death in 1996. She is survived by her daughter Angie, son-in law Mark and granddaughter Maggie Bowles, also her nephew Tom Fields and family in Sarasota Fl, and nephew Forrest Fields and family in Maysville KY. Marie was a homemaker, but lived for her special assignment as one of her granddaughter's home school teachers. She loved reviewing states and capitals, then traveling to, and experiencing them with her. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 11:45 AM in Barrancas National Cemetery where Marie will be buried next to her husband. The family would like to thank Dr Brian Perez and Emerald Coast Hospice for their excellent care. Thinking especially of Lisa, Tiffany, Sally and Karen. The family would also like to thank Pastor Rory Hermann and the Magnolia Manor neighborhood friends for their love and support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge or the Squiggley Safe Haven fund at St Frances Veterinary Center, Navarre, FL.
