Marian Pierce

Marian M. (Hashbarger) Pierce 1924 - 2010 Marian, 85, died June 18, 2010 at Pensacola FL after a long illness. She was born December 10, 1924 in Marion Twp., Henry County, Ohio. She was the only daughter of Harold Hashbarger and Margaret (Brown) Hashbarger. She attended a Hashbarger country school in Henry County. From 6th grade to 8th grade graduation she attended The Bishop School. During her high school years at Hamler High School she was an active Girl Scout and spoke often of participating in the Drama Clubs. She graduated High School in May 1942. In September 1942 she was admitted as a student nurse at Lucas County General Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. Marian joined the United States Marine Corps on December 18, 1944. On August 28, 1948 she married Clarence A. Reid Jr. They divorced. On August 4, 1977 she married Web Pierce. They retired to Florida in 1980 where she continued to live after his death on August 22, 1996. Also preceding her in death were two brothers; Richard Hashbarger (infant) and Kenneth Hashbarger. She was the loving mother of three children: Nancy Reid, Wisconsin; Robert (Jinny) Reid, Mongolia; and Ronald Reid, Michigan. She had two step-children: Janice (Pierce) Tatomer and Glenn Pierce. She is survived by three brothers: Lee Hashbarger, Robert Hashbarger and Ned Hashbarger. She was grandma to four grandchildren: James Reid, Arizona; Clarence (Sonny) Reid, Fiji; Ronald Reid, Florida; and Erika Reid, Florida. She was great-grandma to Noah Reid, Fiji. There will be no services. She will be laid to rest at the Pensacola Naval Air Station, Pensacola FL.
