It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret "Marge" Carolyn Dickinson, who left us peacefully at the age of 90. Born on March 2, 1934, in Uniondale, PA, Marge was the youngest of ten children, born to Anthony J. and Anna Swedersky. She was a spirited and loving presence in the lives of all who knew her.
A graduate of Herrick Center High School, Marge was a cheerleader and a proud member of the drama club, always full of energy and enthusiasm. She later found fulfillment in her career, first at Sandora Blouse Co. in Forest City, PA, and then as a devoted Avon Representative for over 50 years. Her outgoing personality and dedication earned her multiple top awards in her Avon career. She also worked for the Newark Star Ledger, exemplifying her tireless work ethic and vibrant spirit.
Marge had a rich and varied life filled with hobbies and activities she enjoyed. She was an avid gardener, baker, and cook, and took great pride in canning her own produce. Her creativity extended to ceramics and caning rocking chairs, and she found joy in crafting with the ladies of her church. Marge stayed active with aerobics and bowling, always finding ways to stay engaged and connected with others.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband Louis, who passed away on the same day 13 years earlier on February 8, 2012; her brother Vincent and his wife Eva; and her eight sisters: Verne and husband Jack Morgenstern, Sally and husband Tony Spinoccia, Florence Gurdusky, Anne and husband Albert Franceski, Eleanor and husband Paul Walsh, Agnes and husband John Blodnikar, Dorothy and husband Thomas Jurasko, and Joan and husband Frank O'Peka. Marge leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory. She is survived by her three daughters: Joan Starego, Donna Tryon and husband Mark, and Nancy Harrell and husband Rich. Marge was also a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren—Jessica, JoAnna, Ashley, Kimberly, Matthew, Emily, and Lauren—and the great-grandmother to twelve great-grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Gulf Breeze, FL, with visitation at 10:00 am and a service at 11:00 am, followed by a light fare gathering in the church hall. Pastor Steven Simon will be officiating.
Marge will be remembered for her warmth, her indomitable spirit, and the countless lives she touched. Her legacy of love, hard work, and joy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever
