Mae H. Guice 1923 - 2010 Mae was born in Brantley, Alabama in 1923 and she has resided in GB Fl for 56 years. She was preceded in death by her son, John and her sisters, Ruth and Judy. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, John J. Guice; daughter, Anna (Roger) Hackney; sister, Gertrude (Dewey) Dennis, Joyce (Harvey) Forwood; her daughter-in-law Kathy Guice; grandson Sean; and her great-grandchildren John Michael, Porsche and Hannah; and to her caregiver and friend, Evelyn Barron. Mae and her husband were among the first members of the Gulf Breeze Methodist Church where she served as President of the Women's Methodist Society for many years. Mae was the president of many garden clubs and she is a lifetime member of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs. Among her achievements she won many local, state and national flower arranging awards. She was an avid conservationist and made many contributions to her community. She loved and appreciated the beauty in all living creatures especially our local birds and marine life. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 28 from 2 to 4pm at Rose Lawn Funeral Home. Services will be on Monday, November 29 at 1pm with burial to follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or a donation made in Mae's name to the Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida.
