Lucy Grassi

Lucy Ortenzo Grassi, born December 12, 1921, in Pennsylvania, peacefully passed away on August 4, 2024, in Colleyville, TX, at the age of 102. 

 Lucy lived a rich and fulfilling life, characterized by her unwavering devotion to family and her ability to create warmth and joy wherever she went. She was part of a family of 4 sisters Lucy, Margret, Josephine and Mary and two brothers, Alfonso and Joseph, all of whom have passed. After her marriage to Trieste J. Grassi, whom everyone referred to as Trit, the couple spent many cherished years in Newburgh, NY, raising their three children. Following Trit’s passing, Lucy continued to find happiness and solace in the company of her loved ones.

 Lucy’s journey took her from Newburgh to Gulf Breeze, FL, then on to Carey, NC, and finally Dallas Texas, where she enjoyed her later years always surrounded by family. She spent time creating precious memories with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Her legacy is carried forward by her three children and their spouses: Alex and Karen Grassi of Colleyville, TX; MaryLu and Ron Radloff of Apex, NC; and Frank and Diane Grassi of Poway, CA.

She is survived by eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, each of whom will remember her with love and gratitude for the countless moments she enriched their lives. Lucy's family and many friends will deeply miss her gentle spirit, kind heart, and the warmth she brought into every gathering.

A visitation will be held in Gulf Breeze at Rose Lawn Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 27th. Following the visitation, Lucy will be laid to rest at Ft. Barrancas Cemetery at 1:00 pm.

Lucy’s family extends their heartfelt thanks to all who have supported them during this time. In remembering Lucy, may we all strive to embody her grace, kindness, and unwavering love for family.
