Lucas Keigley

b. December 4, 1997

Gulf Breeze, Florida

Lucas David Keigley, the first-born son of David Lawrence Keigley and Carri Ann Keigley, passed on to be with the Lord July 4th, 2021 at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, but it was not without a fight that he surrendered his life to God.

Lucas was born on December 4th, 1997 in Miami Florida where he lived for 11 years before moving to Gulf Breeze in 2008. He graduated from Gulf Breeze High School in 2016 and went on to study at Mississippi State University and the University of West Florida.

A biblical name “Lucas” meaning bright shining light, held true to Lucas' personality. He was always the shining star in the room with his larger-than-life personality. Always ready for the next adventure, Lucas took joy in surfing, snowboarding, skiing, skateboarding and entertaining family and friends with his stories or whatever plan he had drummed up for the day. Time spent with Lucas was always purpose filled whether it was a conversation or an activity. Lucas treated everyone he knew with kindness and he brought light to others through his special talent for the arts like drawing, painting, writing poetry, or music. He loved music! He took solace in listening to music, singing and playing the guitar.

Lucas took his creative talents to a whole new level where he worked with his dad at Aluma Designs. From programming, fabricating and installing various complex signage and graphic projects to creative design. Lucas was brilliant, he had a natural talent for all things hands on and the Lord blessed him with the ability to learn quickly. It wasn’t long before Lucas was teaching David some new tricks of the trade and taking on projects. He had become an excellent project leader and will be impossible to replace.

Lucas was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gary Vaughn Peck.

He is survived by his mother and father David Lawrence Keigley and Carri Ann Keigley and his siblings, Jordan Keigley (21), Grace Keigley (18) and Tristan Keigley (15), all of Gulf Breeze Florida; his grandparents; Lawrence Albert Keigley, Katharine Cowen Keigley and Carol Ann Peck; aunts and uncles; Brian and Ashley Keigley (Toler and Stella), Christian and Laura Savoie (Alex, Vance, Harlan and Pierce), Troy and Miki Peck (Vaughn, Connor and Maya), Jeremy and Tanya Stremme (Noah and Helena).

The Church Service will begin at 2:00pm, Monday, July 12, 2021, at Coastline Calvary Chapel, 1122 Oriole Beach Rd., Gulf Breeze, FL 32563.  Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Gulf Breeze.
