Lena Rubino, 6/28/1923 - 8/24/2020, was born in Italy and passed in Gulf Breeze, Fl.
Lena migrated to New York from Naples, Italy in 1940 where she met and fell in love with Luigi Rubino from Pentone, Italy. They had two children, Frank and Rosanne, and resided in New York. Lena was a dressmaker as a young adult and a teacher’s assistant later on in life. Lena lived a full life that came with many trials but never let them get in the way. She stayed her course, worked hard, took care of those she loved, and kept her affairs in order. Lena was tough, respected, and loved by everyone who knew her. She will be missed but welcomed into her rest where she can finally be at peace.
She is preceded in death by her son, Frank Rubino Lt. Col. USAF, MSC, Ph.D., and her daughter, Rosanne Palanek.
She is survived by her grandsons, Louis Palanek of Florida, Matthew Palanek of North Carolina, and Frank Rubino, her granddaughters, Nicole LaRocca of Virginia, and Francesca Rubino, and her niece, Diane O’Grady.
A graveside service will be held Friday, September 4th, 2020, at 11:20 AM, in the Long Island National Cemetery.
