Larry courageously fought his battle against cancer for over two years. Despite time in and out of the hospital and a major surgery, he bravely sustained his normal everyday life. He continued to attend his grandchildren’s events, spend Sundays with his sons and family, look forward to Thursday nights out with his wife, and most importantly be present for the full-time job that he loved dearly. Larry was a devoted husband, father, and family man. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends watching sports, listening to music (loved KC and the Sunshine Band!) and ultimately putting a smile on everyone’s face. Larry’s ear-to-ear smile was contagious and enlightened others to what was most important in family, life, and love.
Larry saw the good in all people. His impeccable work ethic allowed him the opportunity to meet many people in many walks of life. From the local waitress to prominent doctors and lawyers, Larry considered all of them friends. He would go out of his way to put a smile on the face of everyone he met. Larry worked in several fields throughout his life, but his most cherished occupation was looking out for the families residing in Burnt Pine. His 20 plus years of time devoted to the residents of this small community resulted in countless friendships. Larry considered his work associates and the numerous residents that he engaged with family, and they likewise accepted him as a loved one. He will be missed dearly by many.
Larry was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Donald Bittner.
