Julie Ann Day, 66, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, died unexpectedly at home on June 30, 2022. Born in Rosemead, California on January 22, 1956 to Savanna Walter Rich & Rita Julia Mazic Rich. Julie was her father's princess, the youngest of four children and the only girl of the family. Her father's drive and determination was echoed in Julie's life and career. With more than 40 years in mortgage brokerage, she mentored and inspired countless co-workers.
In 1997, she married the love of her life, James Scott Day, with whom she planned on celebrating 25 loving years of marriage next month. Whether on the road in the RV or enjoying a last minute boat ride, they traveled together, exploring and experiencing life to its fullest.
Julie was often heard saying, "The best thing you ever gave me, Scott, was this family." She meant every word. From the moment she met Scott's son Chris, she considered him her son as well. And the first time Miss Cori Jean Day smiled and said, "Grandma!," she became a part of Julie's enormous heart.
Her heart found room for so many over the years, and her infectious smile and laugh made you feel as if you'd been lifelong friends within the first moments of meeting Julie. We are all in shock. We are all heartbroken at the untimely and sudden loss of the lynchpin who held so many of us together. She will forever be missed and never forgotten.
Julie Ann Day is survived by her husband, James Scott Day, her son Christopher Day (Suzanne), her grandchildren Cori Jean Day and Wiley James Day, her great grandson Steven Nicholas Chesser, Jr., her brothers Frank "Bubba" Rich and Steve Rich (Rusty), and nephews Dennis Rich (KK) and Spencer Rich (Megan Barber). Preceded in death by parents Savanna Walter Rich & Rita Julia Mazic Rich, and her brother Danny Rich.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Community Life Church. A reception with food will follow. Scott requests that everyone wear bright, cheerful colors and casual dress to reflect Julie's cheerful and beautiful spirit.
