Julia Petty

Julia Sybil Bailey Petty, age 92, of Gulf Breeze, was called home to her Lord and Savior whom she devoted her life to, May 22, 2021.  She was born August 26, 1926 in Harnett County, NC to the late Fred Bailey and Ruby Stewart Jones.  Julia was a lifelong resident of Durham, NC before moving to Florida for health reasons 15 years ago.  She was a high school graduate and worked at the American Tobacco Company until starting her family after which she was a proud homemaker.

Julia is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Alfonso Petty; her parents; granddaughter, Stephanie Rhodes; siblings, Fred Bailey, Jr., Eddie Jones, and Sue Hogan.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, John Petty (Bettie) of Cary, NC, Joy Leland (Wayne) of Gulf Breeze, FL, and Mary Rhodes (Chet) of Youngsville, NC; grandchildren, Karen Hohman (Michael), Anthony Westbrook, and Julia Rhodes; great-grandchildren, Lily Anderson, Levi Hohman and Rose Hohman and her great, great, grand-children, Elsie and Selah Anderson; sister, Sandra Massengill, and brother Randy Jones; many nieces and nephews.

The graveside service will begin at 11:00am, June 15, 2021 at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, 770 Stadium Drive, Wake Forest, NC 27587.
