Joseph Skirchak of Navarre, Florida went home to Heaven on April 10, 2013. He spent his last days with his cousin Mike on a road trip doing something he loved - playing golf! Joe is survived by his mother Elizabeth Sarochinksy, brother John Sarochinsky and his wife, Kim, sister Larissa Adams (Pennsylvania), son Joey Skirchak (Texas), daughter Michaelene Bouterie and her husband, Jim, granddaughter Sydney Bouterie (Florida) and beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Skirchak, his grandmother, Anna Gula, and his beloved dog, Andy. Growing up in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Joe was an avid baseball player from Little League days to adulthood. His love for sports continued throughout his life and he enjoyed the opportunities to be an assistant coach for his son and granddaughter. Joe loved singing. He was a member and sang tenor in the choirs of St. John's Russian Orthodox Church in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania and later of St. Seraphim Orthodox Cathedral in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Hanover Township High School in 1965 and received an Associate's Degree from Penn State (Wilkes-Barre Campus). Joe began his career at the Nanticoke Rehabilitation Center. He went on to become an Investigations Analyst with the Federal Government, retiring from a distinguished career in 2010. Joe's true love in life was spending time with loved ones. His faith in God, kindness, playfulness, willingness to help others, and optimistic attitude made him a true friend to all who knew him. He will be missed. Visitation will be held beginning at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze, FL. Services will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Joe's family asks that you please consider a donation to the American Heart Association.
