Joseph Montano of Gulf Breeze, age 85, peacefully passed away on October 12, 2022.
After graduating from Seton Hall Preparatory School in Jersey City, NJ, Joseph served in the United States Navy and then worked as a cosmetologist in Pensacola until his retirement in 2002. After several years, he came out of retirement to work at The Arc Jacksonville Grove House for a few more years where his compassion and his joy for helping those with special abilities flourished.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Joan and his children Anne Marie DeViney (Michael) of Ozark, AL, Lisa Morrell (Lloyd) of Jacksonville, Bobbie Montano (Debbie Calder) of Gulf Breeze, Joseph Montano, Jr. of Pensacola, John McClenahan (Amy) of Chicago, IL, and Michael Wolkowski of Gulf Breeze. He’s also survived by his grandchildren Karen Reeves of Pensacola, Lani Pawar (Amol) of New York City, NY, Jordan Brunson of Goodlettsville, TN, Ian McClenahan of Chicago, IL, Emeline McClenahan of Chicago, IL, and his great-granddaughter, Phillipa Pawar of New York City, NY.
Joseph loved and cared for his family deeply. His generosity and sacrifices for his family were honorable and unending. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 17, 2022 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Sylvester Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze with burial to follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery.
