John Workman

John “Johnny” Wallace Workman, 69, of Gulf Breeze, FL, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2021, after a long battle with cancer, with his wife and children lovingly by his side. Johnny was born on December 10, 1952 to Marie Ward Zecckine in Pensacola, Florida.  Born and raised in Gulf Breeze, Florida.  Johnny served this community from a very early age, starting with his paper route when he was a young boy, to his first job at the Standard Service Station in Gulf Breeze proper.  He later went on to start his own successful garage, Workman’s Service Center, which has served the Gulf Breeze community for over 40 + years.  Everyone who knew Johnny knew that he was an extremely kind hearted and generous person that never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off his back.  From an “I’ll catch you later”, to settle up an outstanding bill, to any and all youth sports sponsorships, Johnny was always willing to help out in any way he could.

Johnny’s greatest joys were his family whom he loved spending time with, and his motley crew of dogs, cats, goats and horses.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents Rudolph and Flora Ward, mother, Marie Ward Zecckine and his first wife, Susan Magee Workman.  He is survived by his wife Tammy Workman, son Johnny Workman, daughters Patty McGill (Trae), Tammy Noe (Steven), and grandchildren: Kaley, Madison, Christian (Anna), Trace, Ella and Max.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Friday, December 17th at 2:00pm, at Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze, Florida. Visitation preceding from 12:00pm-2:00pm.
