John Bloodworth

August 21, 1929 — February 21, 2017

Major John Morton Bloodworth, Sr. (USMC Ret.) died at his home on February 21, 2017.
He was 87.
After serving his country from the end of WWII in mainland China, through Korea and Vietnam, John had a successful second career in the private sector as a Director, then Vice President in aviation and tech industries until 1991, whereupon he retired to Gulf Breeze, Florida.
John was devoted to the love of his life, his wife of 67 years, beloved of his children and large, extended family, and a kind and helpful neighbor and friend.
He was preceded in death by his eldest son, John Morton, Jr. and is survived by his wife, Lillian Morel Bloodworth, sons Charles S. Bloodworth of Clarksville, TN and Robert (Lily) Bloodworth of Richardson, TX, daughters Elizabeth Parker of Hammond, LA, Kathy (Larry) Walker and Jane Bloodworth of Ozark, AL, �fteen grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday, February 24, 2017 at St. Sylvester's Catholic Church in Navarre with a visitation at 1:00 followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place at a later date at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL.
In lieu of �owers, Mrs. Bloodworth requests donations be made in her husband's name to the Marine Corps Aviation Association or other organizations serving our U.S. Military Veterans.
